Roadbud version 1.0 launch slip

Almost ready to bloom

Almost ready to bloom

Roadbud was originally slated to ship by March 1. It isn’t ready – we’re still spraying for aphids.

I don’t like slipping the schedule, but we need to stand behind good software. Roadbud will ship around March 15 instead.

We’re excited about what this iPhone running app will do. A good number of other runners have been interested too – and signed up to be the first to get Roadbud. They relied on my projected March 1 release date – and I apologize to them. Anyone who already signed up to get launch notification will get Roadbud Pro for free.

Bear with us – it will be worth the wait.

Hey Mike, try not to stress, you are doing the right thing. Getting rid of those aphids before you launch is better than launching when things are not quite up to where you want. Good move. And well wishes for a smooth launch!

Many thanks. Your good wishes (and the emails I received) are terrific. This was a hard call to make and it’s really nice to get encouragement from you guys.

I think it’s ok to deliver fewer features (the iPhone is dead simple to update with new versions), but bugginess is hard to overcome.

It’s going to be amazing! You can’t rush perfection. Especially not with a perfectionist…

Makes you pity the poor developers that have to tolerate my fine-toothed comb. :)
