FAQs

General
Can Roadbud work on the Blackberry? Droid? Tricorder?

No. The app only works on iPhone 3G/3GS. We’re perfecting iPhone Roadbud before we move to other phones.

Does an iPhone weigh too much for running?
Some runners bring only a watch and shave pounds everywhere. For me, five ounces isn’t much, but tastes vary. Try it a few times before deciding.

Does Roadbud work for other activities beyond running?
Sure. It’s perfect for walking or biking. Or any workout where you move in real life – even swimming. If you try this with a waterproof case, tell us what happened.

Will I get upgraded as you add more features?
Absolutely. When we add something cool, the red update badge on App Store changes. Press “Update” in App Store and the new version appears. Stay tuned – many features are coming.

Can you add one more feature to Roadbud?
We want to cut every possible annoyance from your workout. If you have an itch to scratch, tell us. Email your comments to mschoeffler@roadbud.com.
One warning – we won’t add features until we figure out how to keep them simple.

Using the app
How do I view different units (C/F, km/miles, min per mile/mph)?

  1. Change Distances on the Settings tab to your local units (miles or kilometers). This will change temperature, mph/kph, etc.
  2. Change Workout to Walk/Run/Bike/Other. This displays your pace in  either time per distance or distance per time.
  3. Change Workout distance. If you’re running a 5K, you’ll see distance in kilometers during workout – even if normal display is miles.
